To those asking questions about 1st lake trail 139 from river road to Lopstick lodge, this trail is now open. As a policy PRR does not have trails that lead to any frozen or un frozen bodies of water. All trails that lead to water are not part of our trail system. This trail was kept open for local camps and lodging to have another access to the trail system even though we were not using it as part of our system because of the unusually high lake water this season. I personally did groom to the dam 3 times this season to help those in the area get out despite our policy of not leading snowmobiles to lakes without a trail to get around. This is also the same policy we have at back lake, we do not groom to the beach as a general rule. Our signs were in place before the lake water came back up and are now still partially encased in ice if not broken away and lost. Now that the lake water has finally subsided to make safe groomer and snowmobile crossing across the SHORE of First Lake the trail is opened and groomed. I hope this answers a lot of questions everyone might have, it certainly will make the grooming routs easier.
